the default tcp port for rsyncd is tcp 873

install the service

apt install rsync

create configuration file /etc/rsyncd.conf:

log file = /var/log/rsyncd.log
pid file = /var/run/rsyncd.pid
uid = nobody
gid = nobody
[nas01]
path = /opt/rsyncd-backup/nas01
comment = nas01 files
uid = nas01
gid = nas01
read only = no
list = yes
auth users = nas01backup
secrets file = /etc/rsyncd.secrets
hosts allow = 192.168.2.199/255.255.255.255

create secrets file /etc/rsyncd.conf:

nas01backup:cyz
> change permissions: chmod 600 /etc/rsyncd.conf
------------------------------------------------------------------------
start service
----------------------------------------------------
systemctl start rsync
systemctl enable rsync
systemctl stop rsync
